3 Steps To Creating Quality Content Faster

Listen, I’m not going to bore you with the details about how “Content Is King!” when it comes to driving traffic, marketing online, etc; etc. Seriously, if you’ve been online for less than a week, then you’ve probably already heard this by now right?

Simply put, great content is the difference between success and failure of your business.

Creating great content is easier than you think… once you quit thinking so much. And to help you get started here’s my ‘no-brainer’ 3 steps to creating quality content faster.

Step #1: Write Like You Talk.

Writing for the web isn’t rocket science! Seriously. If you can learn to write exactly like you’re talking to someone, as if you were explaining something to them or simply talking to them on the front porch about sports or whatever, then you’d have no issues with that, right? Sure you wouldn’t!

So why is it when you start to write about something online you have a massive brain fart, wet yourself and throw up on your keyboard? Well maybe not quite that bad, but you catch my drift. Listen, when you’re writing for the web you’re simply talking to folks a lot like I’m doing here with you now. Do I sound like a rocket scientist to you? I don’t think so!

Remember to KISS: Keep It Short & Simple. Write real solutions for real people in an easy-to-read, casual way works best online. Now this doesn’t mean that you need to be unprofessional or anything mind you, but you’ll definitely want to adopt an easier style of writing. Avoid long and confusing sentences or phrases. Keep it real, casual and professional and you’ve taken the first step to creating killer content!

Step #2: R-E-S-E-A-R-C-H!

Okay, listen up, this is important. Before you ever take up pen & paper, or keyboard, to start writing, you absolutely MUST RESEARCH! If you ever find yourself struggling to get started and just can’t seem to figure out what to write first, then ask yourself this question: “How much research did I do for this project?” Chances are, not enough!

For example. Let’s say you’re writing articles about driving traffic to a website and after about 5 minutes you’ve got next-to-nothing written. Okay, stop what you’re trying to do and simply write down a few research notes.

Write your notes in your own words, speaking out loud as you write – as if you were talking to someone in person about how to increase traffic to a website. If you’d rather record your notes this is okay too. However, don’t try to weave this content into your article just yet, simply jot down your research first.

Now. Once you’ve done your research, your half-way there to completing your article. Now all you have to do is remember the first thing you probably ever learned when it comes to writing content:

A) Tell them what you’re going to tell them

B) Tell them, and

C) Tell them what you told them!

This means that for your articles on traffic, you now need to add an introduction, then weave your research notes (words) into a succinct readable format, and then add your closing – you’re done! Told you this wasn’t rocket science 😉

Step #3: Make Use of Good PLR Content.

Private Label Rights (PLR) content is one of those resources you probably can’t do without, especially if your new to writing website content. Having said this, however, you don’t want to use PLR content “as is” – instead, you can use it as a starting point for writing original, high-quality articles. It’s like having the research part done for you, and then you simply re-write the content using your own words.

A word of caution here. Not all PLR is created the same! In fact, most of the PLR you’ll find searching online is pure garbage. Seriously.

Do your homework when it comes to buying and using PLR content for your website or blog. Don’t use anything but the best, and make sure they limit the number of times they sell the PLR content, or bundle.

Also, stay away from anything that has not been created for distribution recently. 6-8 weeks old is old enough when it comes to PLR. Anything older and it could very well be irrelevant in today’s fast paced world online. Don’t forget. you can use other things like ebooks, free reports and press releases for PLR purposes as well.

Creating quality content faster is definitely within your grasp. Make good use of these three simple steps and you too will be on your way to creating content you can be proud of in no time.

Be good to yourself,

James
