Listen, every affiliate marketer looks for the Niche that gives the biggest paycheck, right? I know I do!
Many times, however, affiliate marketers believe that success is some magic formula that is readily available to them. Unfortunately, it’s a little more complicated than that.
Affiliate marketing success, is simply a matter of good marketing practices that have been proven over the years, plus hard work and dedication to your craft.
However, there are several tactics that have worked before with online marketing and continues to work as well in today’s market. With the following top marketing checklist, you’ll be able to increase your sales and make serious money in affiliate marketing, now and in the future!
What are these tactics?
- Use Unique Web Pages to Promote Each Product Separately
Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.
- Always Include Product Reviews On The Website
Visitors must have an initial understanding on what the product can do for them as a potential buyer. You can not expect consumers to buy just because you convince them you’re a nice, trustworthy person. And don’t swamp them with features, either! Stress benefits in your product reviews on the website
- Include Testimonials From Users Who Have Already Tried The Product
Be sure that customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing. Also, never under any circumstances forge a testimonial; or use “Mike A. of Illinois” either. If you don’t have satisfied consumers who are willing to post a legitimate testimonial with their full name, state and even a non-HTML link to their website, then you may need to question what you’re promoting as an affiliate.
- Write Articles Highlighting The Uses Of The Product
You may seriously consider including articles on your website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight any special points, also. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.
- Offer Free Reports To Your Readers
If at all possible, position free reports at the very top side of your page so they simply cannot be missed. Also, don’t forget to create (and link) your autoresponder follow-up message that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box.
- Create Quality Content Follow-Up Email Series
According to recent studies, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect. Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: (1) Closed sale, or (2) The prospect leaves the page and never returns again. By placing quality content into their inboxes at specific time intervals, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch, please.
- Focus On Important Points
Focus on specific points (BENEFITS!) you want your reader to know about your product, and how it can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free”. There are too many spam filters nowadays, that will dump those emails into the “junk-file” without even making it to the customers in-box. Educate those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not take advantage of your products & services.
- Get The Kind Of Traffic That Is Targeted To Your Product
Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports specifically targeted towards your potential consumers. This way you can locate publications that are focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.
- Write A Minimum Of 2 to 4 Articles Per Week
Write a minimum of 2-4 articles each week, with at least 300 to 600 words in length, and submit to article directories specific to your niche. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Always remember this, only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.
The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part. And most importantly, organizational skills. Whether you’re an organized person or not, if you want to succeed, then you must develop this skill…period! A good resource for this is “Organizational Skills for Dummies.” series of books (They can be found most anywhere).
- Make A Test Run
Use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You may even want to do a “test run” on a niche market you’re not particularly overly excited about as a practice run. This way, you make your “mistakes” on something besides the niche you want to really succeed in. In the end, you’ll end up maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.
Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…
Godspeed,
James

I have borwse a lot of blog, but no one as good as your blog.
James, I signed up on amazon affiliate program last year and I only earned $100 dollars from this affiliate program. I guess I need more traffic to earn more.
Camilla,
More than likely, you answered your own question. However, I would be curious to know what methods and how much market research you did BEFORE joining the affiliate program. Also, what were the reasons for picking the product(s) you chose to promote. The truth of the matter is this, if you can earn a $100 from an affiliate program, you can earn $100,000 with an affiliate program (Providing the market is deep enough and the demand is there). As for traffic, you can never have enough traffic. However, no amount of traffic will fix a market for which there is no demand for the product you’re promoting.
Blessings,
James

Thanks for the kind words, they are always appreciated. However, I do find it interesting that I was found under “heart attack’ under a Google search. I bet my wife would agree though!
