If you’ve thought using Twitter was only for social networking, think again!
More and more people are starting to tap in to the concept of making money with Twitter, and rightfully so considering today’s economic uncertainty!
You too can make money with Twitter, but there are certain things you have to do in order to make a profit.
Obviously, you must have a Twitter account in order to make money with Twitter. Signing up for a Twitter account does not cost you anything, simply visit Twitter.com and follow the simple setup instructions.
Now, once you get your Twitter site set up, you will want to start posting “quality” tweets to your site.
Listen, please, do not tweet just to be tweeting. Ask yourself before posting a tweet: “Does this add value to the conversation?“ If not, then reconsider the post.
The goal of posting quality tweets, relevant to your audience, is that it will help you increase followers with mutual interests. People who are interested in what you have to say, and vice-versa.
Also, when followers tweet posts to you, you should respond in kind.
It is not necessary to have a massive following in order to make money with Twitter. Again, it’s better to have followers that have the same interests than hundreds of followers, or even thousands of followers, that are not interested in cultivating a relationship with you on Twitter.
Tip: You don’t want to be too quick about promoting things in the very beginning!
It’s better to get to know the followers on your site, first. You should want to establish a trust with them. They should also want to establish a trust with you. When it’s time for you to make money with Twitter, it will be easier for you because the relationship has been established.
When you are ready to make money with Twitter, don’t blatantly promote your products or services. Some people could think that you are trying to spam them. It’s not a good idea to mention your product to your followers every time you send a tweet.
However, when the time is right, here are some ways that you can make money with Twitter:
Product recommendation- You could write a recommendation of a product to your followers. Encourage them to check it out and take action.
Also, it’s a really good idea if you’ve actually used the product yourself before you recommend it to them. It will make you the expert on it, and they will be more inclined to purchase.
I can’t count the number of times I purchased a product from someone, who had never used the product themselves, and couldn’t answer simple questions about the product. Talk about embarrassing, ouch!
Affiliate Marketing- If you are recommending a product on behalf of someone else, you can place your affiliate link in your tweet post.
Again, check to make sure the affiliate product is of high quality and that the people stand behind the product or service. Be careful not to yoke yourself together with someone who could tarnish your reputation, and cost you money versus make you money.
Market Your Own Product- You can promote your own product and sell it from your sales page.
This is the fastest way to creating wealth on the Internet! Creating and marketing your own product using Twitter, as well as all the other mediums, means you put all the profits in your pocket! Creating your own product to promote on Twitter isn’t as hard as it may seem, either!
You would be surprised how much each of us knows, either through education and/or life experience, that someone else would gladly pay you for. Simply tape what you would say to some as if you were explaining the details of what you do, how you do it and why you do it this way. Then, have the audio transcribed and created into a CD, ebook and training manual. You could give away the CD for the cost of S & H, and promote the ebook and manual as an up-sale.
Simple enough?
Again, always remember the value you are offering to others. People will purchase, most often, based on the quality and the value the product or service brings to them. A good rule of thumb to follow when creating your own products, is to ask yourself: “Would I pay what I’m asking for this product, based on the value I know it brings to the consumer?“ In this case, You!
These ideas are just a few ways that you can make money using Twitter. The key, however, is not to constantly throw it in their face every time you tweet! Your followers will be turned off by this, because they will soon realize that your main motive for being on Twitter is to sell your product. The easier, faster, and better way to lead up to this, is to consistently provide quality and meaningful content to your followers and by adding value to their life.
Listen, gone are the days when you could put spam in an introductory Direct Message or clog your tweet stream with self-promotions. People are jaded to that now and you have to use Twitter differently.
You now need to focus on having purposeful and meaningful conversations, and adding value to people lives…
